We share this information with joyful from the Province of Our Lady of Grace in Peru, congratulations and God bless you!
On May 8, the Solemnity of Our Lady of Grace, patroness of our Province in the parish of the same name, which was also celebrating its 48th anniversary, the Diaconate Ordination of our confreres Fr. Jorge Aspíllaga, OSA and Fr. José Romero, OSA The ceremony was presided over by Monsignor Lizardo Estrada Herrera, OSA Auxiliary Bishop of Cusco.
Throughout the ceremony the importance of humble service to the people of God was echoed. Jorge, days before his ordination, shared with us that for him to receive the diaconate is "to be configured to Christ the servant, serving God and his brothers and sisters in simple things". José sees in his diaconate the opportunity to "accept the gift of God in his poverty and fragility and thus to be able to serve him and his people", in this way the words service, humility and simplicity frame his religious life.
Finally we thank the lay people who form part of the parishioners of our parish, as well as members of our different pastoral initiatives and secular Augustinian fraternities as well as collaborators of our apostolic works for joining us in this celebration so important for our Province and for the Order. An atmosphere of fraternity, community and joy was experienced making this diaconal ordination a true feast for the Church and for our Province.
